Nera

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Nera has found its own home! Her story: The little Nera traveled to her foster home in early May. The little black puppy is initially a bit shy. But who can blame her for that. The new environment, away from brother and mother. But Nera is slowly and cautiously exploring her new world. At four months old, she is about 28 cm tall and weighs 6 kg. Nera will therefore remain a rather small female dog. Once Nera warms up, she is very playful, but she prefers cuddling and taking over the sofa and bed. She loves to sun herself in the garden and be spoiled with lots of cuddles. The city life with lots of noise and traffic still unsettles her a bit at the moment. But she is slowly and cautiously getting used to it. Despite this, a more quiet environment would be beneficial. Since Nera is very dog-friendly and likes to play with other puppies her size, both children and other dogs can be in her final family. A confident single dog might also be a helpful orientation. Nera is already house-trained and can do a few basic commands. Soon puberty will also be on the horizon, where the little rascals like to forget everything they've learned. But they don't do this on purpose. With a loving and consistent training style, Nera will emerge from this phase as a well-mannered and self-assured female dog, bringing joy to her family. For the little Nera, we are looking for patient and loving people who can give her the time she needs. A garden where she can run around would be the cherry on top of her wish list. Nera can be visited at her foster home at any time. She is of course vaccinated, microchipped, treated for fleas, and dewormed. Her EU pet passport is with her. Who will fall in love with this cute puppy? Many thanks to Anne A. for naming Nera. As of 07.05. This animal is good with children.

Vielen Dank an Anne A.. Du hast Nera ihren Namen geschenkt Stand: 07.05.2025

About Nera

What life with Nera looks like

Nera is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nera, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nera?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nera on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nera if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nera already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nera isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nera and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
