Neron

Male · Adult · 7 years

Look at this adorable face and eyes that are fixed on a person. This is Neron, a dog from a chain, who began to discover life anew at the age of 4. Neron has an undeniable charm that softens hearts ❤ This is a wonderful dog who will be a great friend, but he needs a patient and aware caregiver who will understand his body language and be ready for systematic work. What is Neron's story? Sad. Unfortunately, behind this beloved little face and beautiful, soft fur, there is a being hurt by a human. Neron is a dog who was never taught anything, never given a chance to develop properly or play. Many elements of socialization were neglected. When he came to us, he was fascinated by the possibility of going for a walk, but at the same time, he had trouble with emotions. Too many stimuli and too fast movements above his head upset him. He could grab a hand when he didn't know how else to say "it's too much for me." We may never know all of Neron's story, but together we can write a new one and fix what a human has destroyed! Neron, despite the difficulties he faces, has great reserves of loyalty and love. When he feels safe among the familiar volunteers, he cuddles up and exposes his belly for petting. He is a great walking companion. No one else pays as much attention to a person on the other end of the leash, tracks treats wonderfully, is a cuddler, and loves every form of spending time together. Day by day, he makes increasing progress - he quickly learns commands, already has a few exercises in his small paw that take other dogs more time. He doesn't jump and slowly learns to pass other dogs. Recently, he discovered that you can have fun in life... the sandbox is for digging, and the tug toy is for pulling. With a tear of emotion, we watch his development. We are looking for a caregiver who will teach him that the world is safe, and other dogs and unexpected situations are not a threat. A human who would like to take out a straightforward dog, who has some things to overcome. In return, Neron offers a big heart and canine wisdom. For now, we recommend Neron as a single dog, for a home without children, in a quiet area outside the city. Neron is a black coal, which hides a diamond, just need to get to know him ❤ We encourage you to follow our social media, where you will find more photos and videos of Neron:

Denerwował go nadmiar bodźców i zbyt szybkie ruchy nad jego głową.

About Neron

What life with Neron looks like

Neron is a large adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Requires patient, experienced owner due to past trauma and neglect. Needs systematic behavioral work and socialization.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Neron, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Neron?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Neron on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Neron if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Neron already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Neron isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Neron and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
