Update 13. 09. 2026 Auch unser Nicky Boy durfte am Abend noch eine ganz besondere Qualitytime mit unserem Hundetrainer Helle genießen – und das hat er sichtlich genossen. Auch wenn Nicky Boy dabei nicht mehr zu den besonders aktiven Hunden gehört, war die gemeinsame Zeit für ihn etwas ganz Besonderes. Nicky Boy ist einfach ein gemütlicher Kerl. Er rennt nicht mehr wild über das Grundstück und braucht auch keine stundenlangen Actionprogramme. Viel lieber lässt er sich ausgiebig durchwubbeln und kuscheln. Danach stiefelt er ganz in aller Seelenruhe über das Gelände, schnüffelt hier und da und erkundet entspannt seine Umgebung. Leider verbringt Nicky Boy die meiste Zeit allein in dem kleinen Auslauf im vorderen Bereich. Und genau das macht uns traurig. Denn gerade ältere Hunde wie Nicky Boy haben so unglaublich viel zu geben: Sie sind ruhig, gelassen, dankbar und genießen die Nähe ihrer Menschen ganz besonders. Nicky Boy braucht keine Abenteuer und keinen Trubel. Er möchte einfach dazugehören. Ein gemütliches Plätzchen, liebevolle Menschen, die ihm Zeit schenken, ein paar Streicheleinheiten und das Gefühl, endlich angekommen zu sein – mehr braucht es für unseren tollen Rüden wahrscheinlich gar nicht. Leider werden die ruhigen, älteren Hunde viel zu oft übersehen. Dabei sind sie wahre Schätze für Menschen, die einen entspannten und unkomplizierten Begleiter suchen. Gibt es da draußen jemanden, der genau das in Nicky Boy sieht? Jemanden, der diesem wunderbaren, älteren Rüden noch einmal zeigen möchte, wie schön ein eigenes Zuhause sein kann? Nicky Boy wartet. Vielleicht wartet er genau auf DICH. Andújar, den 12. 11. 2025 Nicky Boy lebte sein Leben lang gemeinsam mit seinen Besitzern in einem Haus auf dem Land, doch als diese das Haus nun verkauften, wollten sie ihren Hund nicht behalten. Unvorstellbar, oder? Dank der Hilfe unseres Tierarztes konnte Nicky Boy zum Glück ins Refugio ziehen, wo er nun in Sicherheit ist und sich Tag für Tag mehr an das Leben bei uns gewöhnt. Bereits feststellen konnten wir auf jeden Fall, dass der Schäferhund rassetypisch bei Stress sehr bellfreudig ist. Bei seiner Ankunft wurde Nicky Boy positiv auf Leishmaniose getestet und erhält nun täglich Medikamente. Doch dies sollte kein Grund sein, ihn nicht zu adoptieren, denn die Leishmaniose ist schon lange kein sicheres Todesurteil mehr, kann der Hund doch in den meisten Fällen – ist er medikamentös gut eingestellt und weiß man ein paar Dinge zu beachten – ein langes und gesundes Leben führen. (Einen Überblick über die Mittelmeerkrankheiten findet ihr auf unserer Homepage, gerne könnt ihr aber auch mit euren Fragen direkt an uns herantreten. ) Auch eine Zahnreinigung war nötig und wurde durchgeführt, sodass es dem hübschen Schäferhundrüden jetzt viel besser geht. Nicky Boy ist ein freundlicher Hund, der gut mit Hündinnen zusammenleben kann. Was Rüden angeht, haben wir bislang keine Erfahrungen. Trotz seiner Vorgeschichte zeigt Nicky Boy viel Vertrauen und Lebensfreude – ein rundum toller Hund! Wer ihm ein liebevolles Zuhause gibt, wird einen treuen, geduldigen Begleiter gewinnen, der Zuneigung und Aufmerksamkeit sehr zu schätzen weiß und gerne an der Seite seiner Menschen lebt.
