adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Nila has found her home! Her story: Nila had quite the bumpy start in life. Found together with her siblings near a village near Bistrita, she and her littermates would definitely not have made it through the winter alone. Since her rescue, the scrappy bunch, which includes Bertha, Twinkle, Herr von Bülow, Herr Sander, and Herr Schröder, has been making a mess in their foster home. The little Nila is a fluffy teddy bear with her soft fur. Currently, she is about 30 cm tall and super friendly and playful. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs. However, a compatibility with cats has not yet been tested. Currently, Nila, along with her siblings, is in a foster home in Romania. But this does not replace a home. For in Romania, dogs in foster homes are often outdoors, and right now, with us in the middle of winter, we wish for the little mouse a warm dog bed. Nila is a little sunbeam, but still has a lot to learn. If you decide to take in a little canine soul into your family, be aware that work awaits you. But also lots of joy, fun, and new adventures every day. Nila is ready to learn the dog ABC and would love to do so in connection with a positively working dog training class. This way, all the right foundations are laid so that Nila will undoubtedly grow into a wonderful lady dog. Nila travels vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She is ready to be adopted. Would you like to give Nila the life she deserves? Then contact us. We would also be very happy about the possibility of a foster home. Thank you to Sarah for this wonderful name. Thanks to you, Nila can now begin her search for her people. Date: 15.01.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Nila

What life with Nila looks like

Nila is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nila, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nila?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nila on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nila if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nila already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nila isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nila and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
