Adopt Vitez B

👉 BackVitez- waits at the animal shelter in Hungary - Vitez – Youngster looking for his happiness Vitez, a young mixed-breed male dog, born early September 2025, stands about 44 cm tall at the shoulder and weighs around 15 kg. He appeared alone in the city – with a collar but without anyone waiting for him. He was discovered near a heavily trafficked road and could be brought to safety at the last moment. This small dog had incredible luck. At the animal shelter, it quickly became apparent what a special young dog he is: Vitez is healthy, alert, and mentally very clear. He understands the "language of dogs" – if he is corrected by confident dogs, he listens, sometimes even reluctantly. At the same time, he knows how to assert himself with uncertain dogs. Currently, he would like to approach other dogs on the leash and begins to pull – here more training is needed. Therefore, we are looking for people who are experienced with dogs and know how to react calmly and confidently in such situations to accompany him safely in our human world and help him become a relaxed companion. Vitez is a self-assured, lively young dog with character. He shares his thoughts, occasionally commenting on his environment with a bark – honestly, charming, and right from the heart. He greets people openly, friendly, and full of trust. He seeks closeness, enjoys every bit of attention, and brings contagious joy of life. What he still lacks now is his own home – people who lovingly accompany him, give him security, and want to discover the world together with him. A travel arrangement to Germany is possible starting from April 19th. The Caniv 4D test has yet to be conducted. Would you like to grant this youngster his happy ending? Then please feel free to get in touch with us – we will answer all your questions. We are looking for people who really enjoy working with a dog and showing him the world. People who are consistent, fair, and loving, and who can help him find his place in everyday life with patience and joy.

About Vitez B

What life with Vitez B looks like

Vitez B is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. in Nordwalde.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vitez B, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vitez B?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vitez B on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vitez B if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vitez B already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vitez B isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vitez B and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
