Nina Shephard

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 8 years

Nina arrived to us as part of a trio of female Shephards, together with Morgan & Kira. They come from the countryside, where they, like many other animals who had to be divided between various rescues, had been under the care of a woman who sadly took her own life, and the animals stayed behind. They are of course very bonded and live well together, but they also each have their own characters and are also independent individuals. Nina is the middle one of the group from her age, and though she of enjoys to go for walks and time in the park with her pack members, she actually very much enjoys me-time in the dog park. She looks for a nice stick to chew on and will spends most of her time under a tree, chewing on a stick quietly by herself, while Kira is running around and Morgan is checking humans for snacks. We do not yet know Nina outside the shelter, but soon she will go out to the forest and the town with volunteers and then we will know more about her character individually. In the shelter she is mostly calm, walking well on the leash and minding her own business while out with volunteers. She loves to go into the pool after a walk in the hot weather and she really enjoys being brushed and receiving massages. She also allows her nails to be cut without any drama. Nina enjoys doing little exercises with her human, sit, lay, stay, wait for the toy. She establishes contact easily with humans, especially when she is separated from the pack and has one-on-one attention. Nina is looking for a home with an balanced, calm person with previous dog experience, preferably with Shephards or similar breeds. She could join a home without other dogs, or with good introduction, a home with another social, confident dog, or she could also of course be adopted with 1 or both of her friends - Morgan & Kira. Nina's shoulder height is 60cm.

About Nina Shephard

What life with Nina Shephard looks like

Nina Shephard is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Triple A Marbella in Marbella.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nina Shephard, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nina Shephard?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Triple A Marbella handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nina Shephard on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nina Shephard if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Triple A Marbella will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nina Shephard already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nina Shephard isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Triple A Marbella early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nina Shephard and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
