Nina

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 4 months

Our lovely young female dog Nina wishes for a beautiful home at last! Nina's story began in a city animal shelter, where she landed with her siblings as a very young puppy – apparently, her previous owner did not want the puppies. Pedro and Vincente learned about the puppy siblings in the animal shelter and knew that the chances for them there were not good – many small dogs quickly become ill and do not survive a stay there long. So, the two took Nina and her siblings out of the shelter quickly and brought them to the Refugio Huella de Jaén. Here, the young dogs grew up and eventually became adults. Nina has grown into a beautiful lady dog. She is friendly with her trusted people and loves to be stroked and cuddled. One can see that Nina is a clever female dog who, of course, does not receive the stimulation in the animal shelter that she needs. We are looking for active people who want to discover with Nina what delights the charming female dog. And it is hard to believe, but in all this time, no one has ever shown interest in our Nina. We wish that Nina will finally have the good fortune to be discovered. Nina still has so much to learn in her life. She is not yet familiar with life in an apartment and needs people who can help her and teach her what it is like to be a family member, people who also have the time and patience to lovingly but consistently teach her the basics of being a dog. A visit to dog training classes would certainly be beneficial for the young female dog.

About Nina

What life with Nina looks like

Nina is a extra-large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
