Dit is de lieve Nino! Nino is geboren in juni 2025 en werd huilend en alleen aangetroffen in een tuin in Varkiza. Hij zat verscholen tussen de struiken en was te bang om te bewegen. Toen de vrijwilligsters arriveerde, was hij zo angstig dat hij probeerde te bijten naar alles wat in de buurt kwam. Niet uit agressie, maar uit pure angst. De vrijwilligsters moesten speciale handschoenen gebruiken om hem in veiligheid te kunnen brengen. Gelukkig gaven zij niet op en op 22 oktober 2025 kwam Nino aan in het asiel waar zijn nieuwe leven eindelijk begon. Nino heeft een aanhankelijk, vriendelijk en nieuwsgierig karakter. Hij wil graag weten wat er om hem heen gebeurt. Of iemand nu ontbijt klaarmaakt, op de computer werkt, een boek leest, het huis schoonmaakt of gewoon van de ene naar de andere kamer loopt. Nino loopt meestal vlak achter je aan. Nino is sociaal. Hij houdt van mensen. Hij volgt zijn baasje(s) graag om te zien wat ze doen. Hij is vooral geïnteresseerd in wat mensen eten en zorgt ervoor dat hij niks spannends mist. Hij geniet van gezelschap en laat zijn liefde graag zien. Hoewel Nino wat verlegen kan zijn bij een eerste ontmoeting, ontdooit hij snel zodra hij merkt dat hij veilig is. Zijn vriendelijke karakter komt al gauw naar boven en hij sluit moeiteloos nieuwe vriendschappen. Nino houdt van knuffelen. Na het spelen volgt één van zijn favoriete bezigheden: knuffelen. Hij bewaart zijn genegenheid niet voor slechts één persoon, maar vindt iedereen leuk en reageert doorgaans heel goed wanneer er nieuwe mensen in zijn omgeving komen. Hij geniet ook van het gezelschap van andere katten. Hij voelt zich prima op zijn gemak bij soortgenoten en zou het liefst in een huis wonen waar hij een kattenvriendje heeft. Hoewel hij niet officieel is getest in de omgang met kinderen, denkt zijn verzorgster dat hij het heel goed met kinderen zou kunnen vinden. Zijn zachtaardige, liefdevolle en sociale karakter doet vermoeden dat hij een geweldig maatje zou zijn voor gezinnen met kinderen van alle leeftijden. Als het tijd is om te rusten, is hij vaak slapend op een comfortabel bed of ontspannend op één van zijn favoriete knusse plekjes te vinden. Hij houdt van het huiselijk leven. Nino is speels. Hij heeft veel energie en is erg nieuwsgierig. Hij houdt van veerspeeltjes, balletjes, laserlampjes en knuffels. Hij is hier dol op. Ook schoenveters zijn favoriet en kunnen hem geruime tijd vermaken. Hij houdt van klimmen, achter dingen aan rennen, krabben aan krabpalen, op ontdekkingstocht gaan en elk hoekje van zijn omgeving onderzoeken. Voor hem is elke dag een kans op een nieuw avontuur. Nino is spraakzaam. Vooral als het om natvoer gaat. Hij laat duidelijk van zich horen als hij vindt dat het etenstijd is. Hij laat iedereen graag weten wanneer hij trek heeft. Zoals veel katten kan Nino wat gevoelig zijn voor plotselinge bewegingen, maar verder is hij een gemakkelijk gezelschap in huis. Hij vindt het niet erg om op bepaalde plekken aangeraakt te worden.
