Nomi

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Nomi lives on a foster home in Patras / Greece. VIDEOS AVAILABLE !!! female dog/spayed in October 2022. Size: approx. 53 cm. Update 31.10.2024: Where are the people who will finally give this beautiful black beauty with her charming amber eyes her long-awaited home? Update 31.10.2024: Our colleagues report on Nomi: Nomi has grown into an adult female dog. She still lives in the local foster home with other dogs and cats in peace. Last year, Nomi was still quite shy towards us, but this time, she came up to us friendly, sought contact, but was by no means pushy. She made a very relaxed impression. She is a beautiful female dog with expressive eyes and shiny fur. For Nomi, a home with people who like to do a lot with their dog would be wonderful. She still needs training, but with the right people, she would definitely make a great companion. Update 13.10.23: Our colleagues report on Nomi: Nomi lives together with other dogs and cats in a local foster home. She has been there since puppyhood and feels very comfortable there. At first, she was a bit cautious with us, but that quickly faded. Nomi is a young, beautiful black! WHAT HAS HAPPENED UNTIL NOW: Nomi was saved by a young animal welfare worker when a man tried to sell her on the street. The little one had a rope around her neck and looked quite shy, so the animal welfare worker bought the puppy for 10€. Now, Nomi is in safety and is housed in a local foster home. She has already had the mandatory vet visit and her first vaccination and can now start looking for a real home. Nomi is age-appropriate playful and cheerful. Of course, she – like all puppies – still needs to learn the 1×1 of dog training and is looking for people who don’t expect anything from her at first and show her gently how a normal dog life works. Nomi is already vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed, her full vaccination protection is complete by mid-March, and then she is ready to travel.

About Nomi

What life with Nomi looks like

Nomi is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierfreunde Patras e.V. in Ratingen.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nomi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nomi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierfreunde Patras e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nomi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nomi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierfreunde Patras e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nomi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nomi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierfreunde Patras e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nomi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
