Nora

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

This beautiful girl is Nora a nearly 3 year old French Pointer that was originally bred in Romania then travelled to London as a puppy where she was kept outdoors as a breeding female dog. Her current owner bought her but has been struggling because of a move abroad so has had to make this decision to find Nora a new home. After living outdoors she is now learning where to go to the toilet and does have accidents at the moment so time and consistency will be needed to help her understand. She is a very affectionate and loving girl and has been wonderful with everyone that she’s met both children and adults, she has also been several times to the pub and had lots of admiring comments and lots of fuss and attention. Nora has been wonderful with all the dogs big and small that she’s met, eager to meet them but respectful. She can be timid, clingy and a little nervous on times, but this is improving with the more positive experiences she’s having and as her confidence is growing. We have been told that Nora is fine with the cats that she’s met and the livestock that she’s seen while on lead. Nora is a lovely size girl at 31kg but she is strong and only now learning to walk on the lead, so her owner is using a Halti and a harness. He has also started working on her recall because this is all new to her and she is starting to get the idea, but is currently a work in progress so she is being walked on a long line while she is learning. She can now sit on command and is doing really well traveling in the car. Nora is currently in the Wolverhampton area and will be rehomed with her 5 weeks free Agria Insurance and our Adoption Contract. If you feel you could give offer this beautiful girl the life that she deserves please contact us. About Nora

What life with Nora looks like

Nora is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at GSP Rescue UK in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. GSP Rescue UK handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — GSP Rescue UK will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with GSP Rescue UK early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
