adoption requirements adoption process Adopt now this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Nora can stay forever in your foster home! Nora can travel to her foster home in November! Her story: Fantanele, Romania. Our beauty Nora lived on the streets. Year after year, she gave birth to puppies, year after year, her puppies were killed. And now, Nora was supposed to be poisoned. Our local helpers brought her to our care, and she is now waiting in a private shelter for her home. Nora is estimated to be around 2.5 years old. She has a medium size and weighs about 25 kg. She shows herself on site as a calm and friendly female dog. At first, she was quite fearful, but now she is relaxed, enjoys being with people, and seems quite balanced. She has not yet been tested with other dogs, but that will follow soon. We cannot rule out that Nora may have guardian or herding dog genes. We wish for this blonde beauty with her wonderful green eyes a home that is eager to show her the big world. Nora should be rehomed to a rural area and finds people who may already have some experience and can guide her well, so she can be properly integrated into her new dog life. A life in a family home has so far been definitely out of the question for her. She has to learn everything. But with positive reinforcement training, patience, and will, Nora will master it together with her people. She would love to experience more. Beautiful walks in nature, a variety of interesting activities, and a cozy dog bed near her people – this would be Nora’s dream! Our Nora is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She has an EU pet passport and can be rehomed after a positive foster home experience. She would also be very happy with a foster home. Do you give Nora an appropriate dog life? Many thanks Claudia M.! Your naming sponsorship was the start of a new life! Date: 17.09.

Stand: 17.09.2023

About Nora

What life with Nora looks like

Nora is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
