Norbi

Male · Adult · 6 years

We are presenting to you an extraordinary dog - Norbie, whom we often call Norbis. Norbis is naturally calm and shy, initially distant towards new people or situations. He only blossoms when he gets to know someone well and feels safe. Then he goes out bravely for a walk, preferably long and far. In the area of the animal shelter too much happens, strange smells intertwine, there are noises, lots of people and chaos. Norbis likes peace and quiet, then he can sniff freely and observe his surroundings. At such times he also likes to be close to a person, unobtrusively, in his own Norbis way - he may snuggle up to the knee, or let himself be scratched behind the ear and expects a reward - he is indeed a big food lover. We really appreciate these moments with Norbis, there is something in him that grabs the heart. Norbi walks nicely on a leash and calmly passes other dogs. When he arrived at the animal shelter, he preferred to keep his distance from them. No wonder, because the first years of his life he spent in a small kennel run with a stronger dog. Now he enjoys the company of a stable dog with whom he can sniff bushes together or march in the same pace. In a larger group of dogs he stays at the edge. Norbi had a short home, which allows us to know that he can maintain cleanliness and will certainly find his way better in daily routine than in a so-called "open" home. In an urban environment he feels lost, not for him the city center, busy streets and popular Warsaw parks. However, quieter areas with nice walking space will be his place. Norbi is looking for a caregiver, who perhaps, like him, does not feel best in the rush, under pressure of expectations, who will allow Norbis to be himself - a trusting companion in everyday life, a connoisseur of delicious bites, a careful observer of the world of people, and above all, a loyal dog friend. We warmly invite you for a walk with Norbis, maybe this is what you're missing? :)

:) Gosia 797866125 Aga 604977079 Kasia 517656530

About Norbi

What life with Norbi looks like

Norbi is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Requires quiet environment, struggles with busy urban areas and crowds

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Norbi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Norbi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Norbi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Norbi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Norbi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Norbi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Norbi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
