Nori

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Female · Young · 1 year

Hi, I’m Nori!I’m a gorgeous 11⁄2-year-old Staffy cross with a big personality, lots of energy and an even bigger heart!I absolutely adore my people and I’m at my happiest when I’m getting fuss, cuddles and plenty of attention. I’m a very affectionate girl and, once I get to know you, I’ll be your biggest fan and your most loyal companion.I’m an energetic girl, so I’m looking for someone who enjoys getting out and about and can give me plenty of exercise. I also need lots of things to keep my brain busy because I’m a clever girl who likes to be kept occupied! Training, enrichment, games and activities will help me channel all my energy in the best possible way.One of my favourite things to do is play tug, and I’m a huge fan of food — tasty treats are definitely the way to my heart! I get along with most dogs, but I think I’d actually be happiest being the only dog in the home, where I can have all my people and their attention to myself. I'm good with everyone I meet but due to my size and energy I would be best suited to an adult only home or a home with older teenagers. There is something important you need to know about me, though. I have a very high prey drive, which is why I was sadly returned to rescue. Because of this, I cannot live with cats or other small animals. My new family will need to understand this part of me and be responsible about managing my prey drive.Kennel life can also be quite difficult for me. I find it stressful, and I can struggle when I’m left alone as I have some separation anxiety. I’m looking for a patient and understanding person who will give me time to settle, help build my confidence and work with me at my own pace.I know I might need a little more patience and understanding than some dogs, but I promise I have so much love to give.I’m affectionate, playful, energetic, food-motivated and full of Staffy silliness! I’m looking for someone who will see past my challenges, understand my needs and give me the chance to show them just how special I am.Give me your time, patience and love, and I’ll give you my whole heart. About Nori

What life with Nori looks like

Nori is a extra-large young adult staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at National Animal Welfare Trust in Watford.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nori, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nori?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. National Animal Welfare Trust handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nori on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nori if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — National Animal Welfare Trust will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nori already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nori isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with National Animal Welfare Trust early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nori and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
