Nosek

Male · Adult · 8 years

Nosek is urgently looking for a new home! You will ask why? Unfortunately, in the temporary home where he currently lives, the number of stimuli, residents, overwhelms him, and makes him not fully relaxed:( He also lives in a house with children, where unfortunately despite attempts to become friends, Nosek is still not happy with their presence in the house, which stresses him. This prevents both the residents and Nosk from being completely happy:( 11 months of Nosk's stay in the temporary home have allowed us to get to know him very well, and now we know what qualities his future permanent home should have. 🏠We are looking for a home without children and other animals 🏠A home where there are not many residents, frequent guests, where there is mostly routine, predictability and peace 🏠Near the home it would be good if there were quiet walking areas, because a lot of street traffic still slightly stresses Nosk, as he probably never lived in a city before What is Nosek like and why is it worth becoming his friend? 🙂 He is a lovely dog. Although at first he is slightly distant towards strangers, and needs some time to build a relationship, once he opens up, he will follow a person to the end of the world! A guide is important for him, both at home and on walks, although Nosek sometimes likes to be a bit stubborn and do things his way;) In an apartment, he behaves almost without any faults. He goes outside, can be alone for several hours, likes to play with his favorite material balls, but most of the time just rests and sleeps. He values affection, but also the mere presence, on the same bed/ in the same room. On walks, he is very well-behaved, sniffs, runs, and does a quick training of basic commands. He gets along well with other dogs, has a dominant character, and it would definitely be valuable for him to have parallel walks with a friendly female dog. Nosek knows how to ride in a car, public transport, knows a muzzle, and without problems allows it to be put on when needed (e.g., in a tram, at the vet) This is a dog who still has a whole life ahead of him, lots to see, to eat (Nosek is a fan of dried duck:)) Right now, Nosek is looking only for a companion who wants to traverse the world with him, and who will provide him with comfortable conditions at home. If you are looking for a great dog, meet Nosk!🙂 Adopting a dog from the temporary home, you also give him a home, love, and additionally you know how the dog behaves in an apartment, a block, a city, and in various other situations:)

Nosek PILNIE szuka nowego domu! Zapytacie dlaczego? 🙂 To kochana kluska.

About Nosek

What life with Nosek looks like

Nosek is a large adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Requires quiet home without children, other animals, or frequent visitors. Needs routine and predictable environment. Gets stressed by urban traffic and overstimulation.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nosek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nosek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nosek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nosek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nosek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nosek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nosek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
