Nougat

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Nougat is a male mixed breed dog born in January 2026, who was found as a puppy with his siblings Nairobi and Nathan on a garbage dump and brought to the Serbian animal shelter Svilos. The three were lovingly cared for and raised there. Nougat is now ready for his own home and is waiting to find a family. Nougat is an open, friendly and people-oriented young dog who quickly wins over his humans. He doesn't take long to warm up and gain trust. He shows his happy and playful side quickly and enjoys the attention and time spent with his humans. Nougat especially enjoys playing. He is very interested in playing and is enthusiastic about participating in activities together. He shows himself to be a straightforward and cheerful dog who is curious about his surroundings and will certainly enjoy discovering the world with his humans. Nougat gets along very well with other dogs. His behavior towards cats and other animals is not known to us. We are looking for a loving home for Nougat, where he can be a full member of the family and make many wonderful experiences with his humans. Anyone looking for a friendly, playful and people-oriented young dog will find a real little treasure in Nougat.

About Nougat

What life with Nougat looks like

Nougat is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Care Hungary.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nougat, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nougat?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Care Hungary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nougat on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nougat if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Care Hungary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nougat already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nougat isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Care Hungary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nougat and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
