Adopt NOULA

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 7 years

Breed: HSH-mixed breed (Greek German Shepherd-Mix) Project: Greece/Larissa (0, 12/2023) Gender: female/neutered Age: born 2022 Size: large Weight: approx. 30 kg (as of 17.11.2024) Other: very friendly with all people, well socialized with other dogs, plays well with other dogs, more quiet, to be placed in experienced hands onlyCurrent location: Rescue station in Greece/Larissa NOULA's Story NOULA was caught by a community official for spaying and then released back onto the street. A very animal-loving person provided NOULA with food on the street and pleaded with our colleagues to take her into custody, as the female dog lived in close proximity to a heavily trafficked road and was in constant danger of being hit every day. At first, our colleague Andriana thought that NOULA might also be a good "watchdog" for the shelter. But NOULA shows absolute calm and friendliness at the station and has shown no great protective behavior so far. And even though she is a Herdenschutzhund-mixed breed. But no problem, she doesn't have to accept this "job offer" 😉. NOULA enjoys every affection and is happy to be petted and spoiled. People with the corresponding HSH experience in a rural area with a house and garden would be perfect. This is a current and temporary assessment of NOULA. How she will behave in the future, especially after moving into a new home, we cannot predict. Every animal, like us humans, will change and continue to develop. But with the right and experienced guidance, NOULA will certainly become a faithful companion. Description of classic HSH: Protective and territorial behavior are among the standout characteristics of the Herdenschutzhund. Generally, everything foreign within its territory is viewed with caution and suspicion, and at the slightest hint of danger to the herd, these dogs will chase it away, with their strategy lying more in defensive offense. The territory of the family-held Herdenschutzhund usually extends beyond the fenced-in property, including the visible surroundings and often visited places and walking paths. How and to what extent this behavior is exhibited in mixed breeds can never be said with certainty. That's why NOULA can only be placed in HSH-experienced hands! NOULA is microchipped, vaccinated, treated for endo- and ectoparasites, neutered, and will be retested for so-called Mediterranean diseases until travel arrangements are made (the last test was negative). Where are the lovers of large breeds with HSH experience?

Rasse: HSH-Mischling (Griechischer Schäferhund-Mix) Projekt: Griechenland/Larissa (0, 12/2023) Geschlecht: weiblich/kastriert Alter: geb.

About NOULA

What life with NOULA looks like

NOULA is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierisch Grenzenlos e.V. in Bamberg.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting NOULA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about NOULA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierisch Grenzenlos e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw NOULA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt NOULA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierisch Grenzenlos e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is NOULA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if NOULA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierisch Grenzenlos e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know NOULA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
