Nox

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 8 years

Basic vaccination + rabies. A poor little soul is hoping for a second chance. Nox is about 8 years old and was found in a catastrophic condition on the streets of Bosnia (beware—photos and videos in the comments). He has made an amazing recovery; several teeth had to be extracted, but he’s adjusting just fine. This little treasure is very people-oriented, eager to please, playful, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He travels microchipped, neutered, and vaccinated. Who will give him a chance? His story… He was supposed to die on the streets—instead, he got a second chance. Maybe you still remember Nox. That poor little guy lay on our vet’s treatment table—covered in maggots, suffering from terrible tooth pain, and in a life-threatening condition. And today? Just look at him! No more pain. No more suffering. Instead, he’s a dog who can finally live again, trust again, and hope again. Now, all Nox needs is one thing: his family—people who’ll show him that after all the hardship, love is finally waiting for him. Who will give this wonderful fighter his happy ending? About Nox

What life with Nox looks like

Nox is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ankerhunde e.V. in Novi Grad.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇦Adopting from Bosnia and Herzegovina

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nox, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nox?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ankerhunde e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nox on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nox if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ankerhunde e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nox already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nox isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ankerhunde e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nox and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
