Adopt Nuca

Mixed Breed · Female

And to be upfront about it: As you can see in the two videos, I'm currently a tiny bit rounder than in the photos (about 5 kg more). The photos are already a month old, and I have to say I made good use of my time at the dog boarding facility… let's just say culinarily. My new foster caregivers at the refuge noticed this right away, and we're working on it. My life so far has been a bit tumultuous. My mom lived tied up on a farm, and that's where I was born. Fortunately, a kind young woman took care of me and my siblings. The boys found homes quickly, but my sister and I were left behind. Then it became difficult for our rescuer herself, and she couldn't keep me. So I ended up in a dog boarding facility that helped me get a fresh start. Since April 11th, I've been living at the refuge in Los Belones. I am a very friendly female dog. At first, I'm a bit cautious and rather submissive; I just want to do everything right. When I realize that people mean well, I warm up quickly. My tail is short, but I wag it just as enthusiastically! I think other dogs are great, both male and female dogs. I also really like children; they're often just as curious and playful as I am. Cats? Well… I haven't met any yet. Maybe I'll tell you more about that soon. I wish for a home where I can take my time to settle in and where people show me that I'm safe. Then I can show what a loving, joyful, and loyal companion I am. Upon arrival, I will be vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and have my EU pet passport.

About Nuca

What life with Nuca looks like

Nuca is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nuca, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nuca?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nuca on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nuca if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nuca already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nuca isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nuca and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
