Nuez

Belgian Malinois · Male · Adult · 4 years

Nuez - looking for experienced and responsible people Nuez is a Malinois mix dog currently living in our Spanish partner animal shelter. Unfortunately, we know nothing about his past. We cannot say where he comes from, what he has experienced so far, or what experiences he has had with people and living in a household. Nuez is a Malinois and thus belongs to the smartest and most hardworking dogs there are. Originally bred for demanding tasks, Malinois are still frequently used in police and military work, sports, or other working areas. They are eager to perform, sensitive, very attentive, and usually develop a close bond with their humans. At the same time, this also means that these dogs have special requirements for their environment. A Malinois does not simply want to "follow along," but to be actively engaged - physically as well as mentally. Structure, clear communication, and reliable leadership are essential for these dogs so that they can orient themselves and relax. It is particularly difficult for dogs like Nuez in the animal shelter. The daily routine in the kennel offers few opportunities to use their skills meaningfully or to experience the closeness of people they actually seek so much. Therefore, we are looking for people who consciously choose a dog of this character and ideally have experience with active and sensitive dogs or are willing to deal intensively with the needs of a Malinois. Since we do not know Nuez's current level of training, his future humans should also be prepared to patiently introduce him to life in a household and teach him step by step everything that is important for daily life. Nuez tested positive for leishmaniasis, more information can be found on our information page. Our adoption counselor will gladly advise you on this. Here is Nuez video.

About Nuez

What life with Nuez looks like

Nuez is a adult belgian malinois dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nuez, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nuez?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nuez on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nuez if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nuez already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nuez isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nuez and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
