Adopt Nuño

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Nuño along with more than 20 dogs in poor conditions (chained, without going to the vet...) were rescued from a family in Cantabria with Noah's Ark syndrome thanks to the collaboration between several associations. Nuño wasn't moving, didn't want to eat, or drink... thanks to foster care, we could see the change day by day... amazing what love and care can achieve! ???? If Nuño was already an example of overcoming, in October 2020, he was hit by a car, suffering fractures in his spine... from which he recovered completely with incredible strength. No matter what, we will never stop looking for a wonderful family for this fighter. He gets along well with other dogs. With humans, he only has a little bit of fear towards some unknown men (women are fine). !Come on! A permanent home for Nuño!???? . ??You can follow him on his Instagram!?? Contact: 667849696 - 657961568 www.protectoradepalencia.org ????Album of photos of Nuño: Search for him on Instagram: and follow him! If you can't take him in or adopt, help us spread the word, share, give a like… You never know which "share" will help them find their home.

About Nuño

What life with Nuño looks like

Nuño is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Protectora Defensa Animal Palentina in Spain.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nuño, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nuño?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Protectora Defensa Animal Palentina handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nuño on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nuño if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Protectora Defensa Animal Palentina will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nuño already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nuño isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Protectora Defensa Animal Palentina early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nuño and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
