Nunu

Male · Young · 1 year

Nunu is a canine sweetheart—a little dog with a head full of ideas and a heart ready to love his human for a lifetime. He’s everywhere—running around, sniffing everything, exploring the world and soaking it in with all his senses. Boredom? He doesn’t know the word! Nunu probably had a home and people who loved him, because he walks beautifully on a leash and knows several basic commands. We don’t know exactly what happened that landed him at the shelter—whether it was a person who let him down or life itself that let the person down. Nunu tries very hard to be well-behaved, but sometimes excitement gets the better of him; sometimes he forgets his good manners, and the world can be so fascinating to him that it’s hard for him to stay focused. It’s not spitefulness—it’s just that he needs a guide who’ll patiently show him what’s expected of him. We’re looking for a guardian for Nunu who’ll understand that raising a dog is a process. Someone who, instead of getting frustrated, will teach, reward, and consistently guide this little guy through everyday challenges. Someone who won’t be discouraged by his energy but will instead channel it in a smart direction—through play, training, and calmly building a bond. Nunu is incredibly intelligent and eager to cooperate—you just have to give him time and the right guidance. And in return, he’ll give you something priceless: lots of laughter, a daily dose of positive energy, shared adventures, and a friendship that knows no bounds.

PL·Show original

Nunu to psie dziecko z głową pełną pomysłów i sercem gotowym pokochać swojego człowieka na całe życie. Wszędzie go pełno – biega, węszy, poznaję świat i chłonie go wszystkimi zmysłami. Nuda?

About Nunu

What life with Nunu looks like

Nunu is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nunu, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nunu?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nunu on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nunu if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nunu already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nunu isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nunu and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
