Odette

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 11 months

Odette is a spayed mixed-breed female puppy born in October 2025, who was found with her siblings Obelix, Ottilia, Oda, Olivera, Ollie, and Oliver as a litter and brought to the Serbian animal shelter Svilos. She was lovingly raised by the shelter staff and is now waiting for a caring forever family. Odette is a friendly and outgoing dog who is affectionate and loving towards people. At the same time, the young dog is independent and interested in exploring the shelter's exercise area. The curious and active dog enjoys being in motion and is always on the lookout for new things to discover in the exercise zone. Her adventurous nature makes her a great companion for people who enjoy exploring the world with their dog. Odette is also good with other dogs and enjoys the company of her fellow canines. She has not yet been around cats and other animals, so we cannot assess her behavior towards them. We are looking for a loving and adventurous family for Odette who appreciates her friendly and independent nature. People who enjoy taking their dog on varied walks and providing her with activities would be ideal for her. The dog's shoulder height is 51 cm and she weighs approximately 16 kg.

About Odette

What life with Odette looks like

Odette is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Care Hungary.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Odette, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Odette?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Care Hungary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Odette on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Odette if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Care Hungary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Odette already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Odette isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Care Hungary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Odette and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
