Odil

European Shorthair · Unknown · Kitten · 4 months

Meet Poline, Pol, and Odil: three irresistible kittens ready to win your heart! Poline is a beautiful black long-haired cat with a soft demeanor. Pol is her equally handsome black long-haired brother, always up for a game or cuddle session. Odil steals the show with his pretty rose-white coat and his cheerful, curious nature. These three have grown up in a loving environment and are all social, playful, and affectionate kittens. They love attention, enjoy playing together, and then enjoy a cozy nap. Thanks to their open character, they make ideal family cats who will feel right at home in a warm, homely environment, even with respectful children. Because the kittens support and have fun with each other so much, we prefer to see them move (per 2) together with a brother or sister. Is there already a young, social cat at home looking for a playmate? Then they can also be adopted separately. Free for adoption from July 25th. Do you think one of these darlings (or maybe even a duo) would fit perfectly in your family? Send us a motivation and tell us about yourself, your family, and the home you can offer them. Maybe soon there will be a small purring friend walking through your living room!

About Odil

What life with Odil looks like

Odil is a small puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Dierenasiel Ganzeweide in Veurne.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Odil, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Odil?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenasiel Ganzeweide handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Odil on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Odil if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenasiel Ganzeweide will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Odil already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Odil isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenasiel Ganzeweide early rather than rehoming privately; they know Odil and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
