Adopt Odin - Liebhaber und Kenner gesucht

Male

At Odin, no door seems to lead to a happy dog life. Raised on the streets, taken away by authorities due to animal cruelty charges, and landed at the animal shelter Hallein. Despite this, Odin hasn't lost his trust in people and deserves a very special place. We at the animal shelter Hallein are tired of repeating Odin's story to interested parties, as many dog seekers are more drawn to the special, the eye-catcher, something they have to search for, rather than empathy and understanding for dogs. Many overestimate themselves because they already have four-legged friends, but every dog is different, and this is often overlooked. And the worst are those who know everything and can do anything, who every dog will approach as long as they wink at them from three meters away! Those who already have more dog experience than can be gathered in 40 years of animal shelter work, please do not apply for our "Wolf." Empathetic two-leggeds are sought who appreciate the character of a Slovakian Wolfhound and do not want to turn it into a trained poodle. Odin is character-strong, checks every situation, and acts accordingly— he sets clear boundaries that must be respected and recognized. This dog educates us dog owners with his sensitive and repeatedly clear way of communicating—yes, it is a challenge, but also a great companion! Odin, barely five years old, loves people, has no problems meeting other dogs on the street, he is not a bully or aggressive on the leash, no, but he would like to be an only dog at home, he doesn't need a competitor—because we already have that. It would have been the perfect place for him, were it not for another male dog in the household. An indoor cat would also be possible only with a lot of sensitivity and knowledge about getting them used to each other, but even that hasn't worked before. Odin is a very special dog, whose new owners must be aware of. He needs his primary caregiver(s) who can provide an appropriate home with minimal effort. Dog training or anything else is not necessary; just simple walks and being part of his pack. If you meet these criteria, please apply to Frau Lochmann. The extraordinary four-legged friend is currently chemically neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Odin - Liebhaber und Kenner gesucht, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Odin - Liebhaber und Kenner gesucht?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Hallein handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Odin - Liebhaber und Kenner gesucht on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Odin - Liebhaber und Kenner gesucht if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Hallein will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Odin - Liebhaber und Kenner gesucht already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Odin - Liebhaber und Kenner gesucht isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Hallein early rather than rehoming privately; they know Odin - Liebhaber und Kenner gesucht and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
