Adopt Odín

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

My name is Odín. I was born on November 9, 2022, so I'm still a pretty young guy with plenty of energy in my paws! My life wasn't so great before... I was rescued from the Perrera. But hey, that's all in the past now. I prefer to look forward! I'm a mixed breed, about 20 kg of pure joie de vivre, and I love making new friends. I'm very social and friendly. Whether it's a male dog or a female dog, I get along well with everyone. I'm not quite sure if I get along with cats and children yet... but we can find out. What you should know about me: I sometimes get a bit scared and need someone who can provide me with security and guidance. TOYS! I could play for hours. Throwing, chewing, chasing... I'm up for it! By the way, I think car rides are totally fine, and walking on a leash is already going pretty well. I have medium to high energy, need exercise, and someone who's excited to explore the world with me. I wish for a home with someone who helps me overcome my fears and has patience with me. And someone who plays with me... a lot. When I arrive, I will be vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and I'll have my EU pet passport with me.

About Odín

What life with Odín looks like

Odín is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Odín, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Odín?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Odín on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Odín if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Odín already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Odín isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Odín and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
