Odo

Male · Senior · 20 years

ODO – a kitten found on Solidarności Street. This exceptionally lovable little cat has a wonderful, gentle temperament. He is kind, friendly, and very comfortable interacting with people. He enjoys spending time with his caregiver, values attention and closeness, and quickly wins the affection of anyone who gets to know him thanks to his calm nature and charm. He uses the litter box without any problems. He’s waiting for a home where he can feel safe, become a cherished member of the family, and repay his feline loyalty with love and devotion. When adopting a kitten, you should keep in mind that, contrary to popular belief, raising such a young pet is not easy at all. We do not recommend adopting kittens into households with small children. Kittens are still learning how much force they can use with their claws and teeth, which often leads to scratches and minor injuries—this is the most common reason for adoptions being returned. With such young animals, you need to be prepared to teach them everything from scratch. Kittens are extraordinarily energetic and may damage furniture, curtains, and other household items. Remember that a cat can live for up to 20 years—if you’re taking in a kitten, you must be ready to take responsibility for him or her for a very long time. Kittens usually instinctively use the litter box, but it’s important to remember that there may be instances when you’ll need to work on teaching them proper litter box habits. Also, keep in mind that because kittens haven’t received all their vaccinations yet, they’re in the highest risk group—they can get sick, and the illness may initially show no symptoms. ul. ODO - kotek znaleziony na ul. Solidarności.To wyjątkowo kochany kocurek o cudownym, łagodnym usposobieniu. Jest miły, przyjacielski i bardzo dobrze odnajduje się w kontakcie z człowiekiem. Chętnie spędza czas w towarzystwie opiekuna, ceni sobie uwagę i bliskość. To kot, który swoim spokojnym charakterem i urokiem szybko zdobywa sympatię każdego, kto ma okazję go poznać. Bez problemu korzysta z kuwety. About Odo

What life with Odo looks like

Odo is a senior cat waiting at Schronisko Kielce in Kielce.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Odo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Odo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Kielce handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Odo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Odo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Kielce will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Odo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Odo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Kielce early rather than rehoming privately; they know Odo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
