Odra

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 1 month

✨ ODRA – A little spark learning to trust the world. ✨ Meet Odra – a one-year-old sunbeam with big eyes and even bigger potential. Odra weighs 14 kg, making her the perfect companion both for an apartment and a house with a garden. Although life hasn't started brightly for her, she proves every day that she really wants to love! 🐾 What is Odra like? • Shy, but curious: At first, she may keep her distance, but believe us – the path to her heart goes through the stomach! 🦴 Treats are her "superpower" – thanks to them, she quickly overcomes her fears and realizes that human touch is nice. • Medal student: Odra is learning to walk on a leash. No one has ever shown her that walking is fun, not a reason to be afraid. It can be a challenge for her, but thanks to socialization, she makes tremendous progress! Every step forward is our shared success. 📈 • Delicate soul: This is a dog who needs a moment of patience and calmness to fully blossom. What do we look for for Odra? 🏠 We are looking for a conscious home that understands that adoption is a process of building trust. A home that: 1. Helps her gain confidence in the big world. 2. Provides her with a sense of security and lots of warmth. 3. Will continue her training walking (with plenty of rewards and understanding!). Odra is a true warrior for a better tomorrow. Although the world sometimes still overwhelms her, her determination to approach a person and ask for contact is touching. This is not a dog that just "is" – this is a dog that chooses a person despite her fears. Watching this shy female dog confidently place her paw on the grass during a walk is a moment worth opening your hearts for. She just needs someone who will be her "safe harbor". 🌊💖 Will you give Odra a chance for a new life? 📍 Odra is at animal shelter for homeless animals Canis in Kruszewo – about 100 km from Warsaw and Bialystok. 🦴 You can visit her every weekend during hours!

Każdy krok do przodu to nasz wspólny sukces. 📈 • Delikatna dusza: To pies, który potrzebuje chwili cierpliwości i spokoju, by w pełni rozkwitnąć. 2. Zapewni jej poczucie bezpieczeństwa i dużo ciepła. 3. Będzie kontynuował naukę spacerowania (z dużą ilością nagród i wyrozumiałością!). Odra to prawdziwa wojowniczka o lepsze jutro. Choć świat czasem jeszcze ją przytłacza, jej determinacja, by podejść do człowieka i prosić o kontakt, jest wzruszająca. About Odra

What life with Odra looks like

Odra is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Odra, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Odra?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Odra on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Odra if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Odra already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Odra isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Odra and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
