Odys

Mixed Breed · Male

(Aktually Odys cannot yet be adopted due to excessive aggression, the dog is working under the supervision of a behaviorist) Hello, my name is Odys. I am medium sized, a very energetic little dog. I was born around February 2017. My previous caregivers brought me to the animal shelter, who officially admitted they could not handle me. Unfortunately, the animal shelter staff found out about the conditions in which I actually lived and the mistreatment I experienced. Alcohol was frequently present in my home, and as a result, I was beaten multiple times by my mistress's partner. I really didn't know what to expect from him. Every move he made seemed dangerous to me. I was often forced to defend myself. Currently, I live with another dog. I am jealous of toys, and I also like to be the most important for the caregiver I am looking at. I can walk nicely on a leash. I was trained to live in an apartment, and I was left alone for up to 3-4 hours. I have no problems with keeping the apartment clean. I need a responsible person who is ready to work with me. I would really like to end up in good hands. I have current vaccination, deworming. I am also microchipped, and I have had the neutering procedure.

Często byłem zmuszony do obrony.Obecnie, mieszkam z innym psiakiem.

About Odys

What life with Odys looks like

Odys is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Zabrze in Zabrze.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Odys, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Odys?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Zabrze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Odys on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Odys if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Zabrze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Odys already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Odys isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Zabrze early rather than rehoming privately; they know Odys and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
