Oli

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Hi, my name is Oli. I am a 4-year-old Maine Coon cat – big, fluffy, and quite proud of my impressive ruff. As a Maine Coon, I also have a character and my own opinion. I came to the animal shelter on December 25, 2025 from Bytomskiej Street. My caregiver loved me very much and really wanted to work on my issues. Unfortunately, the other household members were no longer ready for this and after another incident - when I soiled two new beds I ended up in Psitulu. In the animal shelter I don't show such behavior, so it's possible the cause was behavioral - related to stress or the situation at home. Despite everything, the caregivers at the animal shelter approached the issue very seriously and started my diagnosis. We already know that I will require hip surgery. The procedure was slightly delayed because I had an infection, but everything is under control and I am well cared for. What am I like on a daily basis? Friendly and social - I like people. I allow myself to be brushed, and with my coat that's quite important. I get along with other cats. I'm slowly looking for a new loving home for life. Ideally one where someone knows or loves Maine Coon cats and is ready for a cat with a personality. If you are interested in my adoption, contact the animal shelter to find out what stage we are currently at.

Cześć, mam na imię Oli. Jestem 4-letnim kocurkiem rasy Maine Coon – dużym, puchatym i całkiem dumnym ze swojej imponującej grzywy. Jak to Maine Coon, mam też charakter i własne zdanie. Do schroniska trafiłem 25 grudnia 2025 roku z ul. Bytomskiej. Miły i kontaktowy – lubię ludzi.

About Oli

What life with Oli looks like

Oli is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Schronisko Zabrze in Zabrze.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Oli, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Oli?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Zabrze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Oli on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Oli if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Zabrze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Oli already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Oli isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Zabrze early rather than rehoming privately; they know Oli and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
