adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Oliv has found a home! His story: 54317 Güsterath. Oliv has settled in well and shows up as a dream puppy! Oliv stands out particularly through her unique fur pattern on her face and chest, and her white paw tips make her unmistakable. But she not only has a special appearance, but also a particularly wonderful nature. She is always super friendly and loving towards other people and dogs. She is puppy-type awake, curious, and playful. She likes to explore her surroundings and find new things to discover. She likes to run around with her doggy friends or let herself be petted by people, and she also gets along well with the cat. Oliv is about 4 months old, weighs 7.5 kg, and stands 40 cm at the shoulder. She is likely to be of medium size and can be taken everywhere. Whether on bike rides, exciting walks, to a restaurant, or to the office. With the right adjustment and the right training, everything with Oliv should be no problem. However, her new family should also be aware that Oliv still does not know the life in a loving family. She still has to learn the whole puppy ABC and puberty is still ahead of her. Here, she needs people who can approach with a lot of love and patience, and maybe even attend some positively working dog training classes with her to learn a few things. A dog training class can also be a great help at the beginning to strengthen the bond between dog and human. Leash walking, house training, and being alone are already being practiced diligently. Currently, she is a bit unsure outside, she loves the garden and feels very secure there. During puberty, they will certainly test boundaries and perhaps forget some things they have learned. But once this phase is overcome, Oliv will definitely be a great lifelong companion. Originally, she was found with her two siblings in Bologo / Romania, near a river, when they were just over 2.5 months old and on their own. Luckily, they were found in time before something worse could happen. After a positive Gritt, thank you! You gave Oliv her name. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vielen Dank an Gritt! Du hast Oliv ihren Namen geschenkt.

About Oliv

What life with Oliv looks like

Oliv is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Oliv, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Oliv?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Oliv on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Oliv if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Oliv already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Oliv isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Oliv and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
