adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! When Olli looks at you, it's hard not to return a smile. With its shining eyes, cheerful grin, and open nature, it immediately spreads good cheer. However, young male dog Olli didn't always have reason to laugh. Found in a village near Zalău, Olli had to witness a drunk man throwing stones at and kicking him. Fortunately, one of our helpers witnessed the situation and didn't hesitate to bring the little guy to safety. Currently, Olli has found a loving foster home in the area. However, living in the outdoor area there doesn't fully replace a real family. Olli is a friendly, affectionate, and loyal dog who values the proximity of his people. He loves spending time together, enjoys walks, cuddles, and every form of attention. With his gentle and cheerful nature, he always manages to put a smile on his people's faces. Visually, Olli is a real heartthrob. His warm, honey-colored fur, dark mask, and attentive, loving eyes give him a special charm. His friendly grin seems to be permanently etched on his face and reveals what a lovable dog lies within. Olli gets along well with other dogs and shows a good temperament. While wearing a harness is still a bit grueling for him, he's already doing well on the leash and makes small progress every day. Compatibility with cats has not yet been tested. With a shoulder height of about 45 cm and a weight of around 14 kg, Olli has a pleasant size—not too small and not too big, but just right for shared adventures and cozy snuggle hours on the couch. For Olli, we wish for people who will continue to show him that the beautiful sides of life outweigh the negatives. People who will give him security, safety, and a lot of love. Olli has so much trust, joy, and affection to give—now he just needs a family that will accept all of this forever. Perhaps Olli has never experienced the warmth and security of a home before. Therefore, he probably needs to learn the rules associated with it. Things like house training, car rides, or even staying alone, could still be completely new to him. But we are sure that the open little guy, with the right amount of patience, love, and consistency, will quickly adapt to his new life and become an indispensable family member. Olli is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and flea-treated. He will be available after a positive adoption. Who will give Olli a happy dog life? Foster home options would also be a valuable opportunity for Olli. We thank Natalie P.! Thanks to you, Olli has a name and an identity. As of: 06.06.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 06.06.2026

About Olli

What life with Olli looks like

Olli is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Olli, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Olli?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Olli on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Olli if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Olli already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Olli isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Olli and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
