adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Ollie has found a home! His story: Bistrita, Romania. Ollie is eagerly waiting for his people! Ollie was found with his two sisters, Perdita and Motte, in the trash, simply discarded as if they were not living beings and separated from their mother far too early. Luckily, they were found by kind helpers and brought to Roxana's practice. There, they were lovingly cared for and were recently allowed to leave the practice. Since then, they have been living in a foster home with children and cats and are really thriving. Ollie is the whirlwind between his sisters. He stands out especially through his beautiful black-and-white face and the dark spot on his white fur. But not only his appearance makes him unique, but also his character is no less. He is a typical cheeky little puppy boy who loves to explore his environment. He would love to experience so much more. For example, going on exciting walks with his people, seeing the sea, exploring the mountains, conducting a thorough biscuit tasting, or simply spending an evening with his new family and lots of cuddles on the couch. All of this Ollie has not yet had the chance to experience, but would wish for so much. He gets along well with fellow animals, cats, children, and adults. He is always friendly and never shows aggression. He is basically the perfect new walking companion for almost any family. Currently, Ollie is about 3 months old and will stay small as he grows. His new family should also be aware that Ollie does not yet know the life in a loving family. He still needs to learn the whole puppy ABC and puberty is still ahead of him. Here, he needs people who can approach with love and patience, and maybe even attend some positively working dog training classes with him and forgive him one or two mishaps. A dog training class can also be a great support at the beginning to strengthen the bond between dog and human. Leash walking, house training, and being alone are still foreign words to him. During puberty, he will certainly test boundaries and perhaps even forget some things he has learned. But once this phase is overcome, Ollie will definitely be a great life partner. We would also be very happy to place the little guy in a foster home. Many thanks to Sarah! You gave Ollie his name. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vielen Dank an Sarah! Du hast Ollie seinen Namen geschenkt.

About Ollie

What life with Ollie looks like

Ollie is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ollie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ollie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ollie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ollie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ollie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ollie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ollie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
