Spayed, identified, vaccinated, FIV/FELV negative, calicivirus positive. Dog friendly, unknown dogs. Okay for children if calm (but not very young children). No outdoor access (due to calicivirus). In foster care at Champs-Géraux (22). Opale was rescued from a breeding site where she had been living for several years, fed by neighbors after being abandoned on site. Opale is a very gentle and affectionate cat. She needs company and cuddles. She also has her moments of play. She will just need a little time and gentleness to gain confidence. She will need a quiet environment to feel good. Once she trusts you, she will enjoy sleeping at the foot of your bed and greeting you in the morning with her tiny meows to ask for a cuddle. Opale carries the calicivirus. A full extraction of her teeth has relieved her, and she no longer has lesions and does not require any treatment. Calicivirus can be transmitted between cats, so Opale must remain indoors or have only access to a secure outdoor area. The risk of contagion is however very low with vaccinated and healthy cats, if the carrier cat does not have lesions. Opale est une chatte très douce et affectueuse. Elle est en demande de présence et de câlins. Elle a également ses moments de jeu. Elle aura juste besoin d’un peu de temps et de douceur pour prendre confiance. Il lui faudra un environnement calme pour qu’elle se sente bien. Une fois en confiance, elle se fera un plaisir de dormir au pied de votre lit et de vous accueillir au réveil avec ses tout petits miaulements pour réclamer un câlin. Opale est porteuse du calicivirus. Une extraction totale de ses dents l’a soulagée et elle ne présente plus de lésions et ne nécessite aucun traitement. Le calicivirus peut se transmettre entre chats, mais Opale ne présentant aucune lésion depuis 18 mois, son état est stable et le risque de contagion dans son état est extrêmement faible, comme nous l'a confirmé la vétérinaire qui la suit. Si les chats du foyer ont accès à l'extérieur, le risque d'exposition à la maladie existe également avec d'autres chats, qu'ils soient porteurs sains ou avec des lésions, ce que Opale n'a pas.
