Adopt Oreó

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 2 years

Oreó's story… a dog who only wanted to love… Oreó's story, unfortunately, is not unique… yet every line still hurts. There was a family. There was a place they needed to call home. But something was missing… Oreó did not feel right there. They did not find their place. They did not receive what they truly needed. And so… they repeatedly chose the street. Not out of mischief. Not out of wrongdoing. But because they were searching for something. Someone. An emotion… which we call home. Finally, the authorities sought help, and so they came to us. And ever since, we have seen… that Oreó is not "problematic." They simply are a huge-hearted dog. What can be said about them? About a roughly 2-year-old, well-mannered boy, who adores people. He very much loves the older children, but with his kind affection, he can easily make a decision. He is full of energy, ready to love, to run, to play, to live! He is the dog who loves with his whole heart. Not hesitatingly. Not reluctantly. But fully. And perhaps precisely because of this… they were not understood until now… Oreó is not a bad dog. Just not in the right place. Now, however, there is an opportunity. An active family where they can travel, walk, and live together – there, Oreó could finally arrive. We are looking for a guardian who sees more than just a dog. Who does not want to change them… but to be by their side. Additional photos of Oreór: vaccinated, neutered, and ready for a new home. Apply for them: 06 70 619 9311Give them a chance so that they do not choose the street… but a HOME.

Most viszont itt a lehetőség.

About Oreó

What life with Oreó looks like

Oreó is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ürömi Állatotthon in Hungary.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Oreó, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Oreó?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ürömi Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Oreó on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Oreó if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ürömi Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Oreó already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Oreó isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ürömi Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Oreó and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
