Age / Weight: approx. 1 year / approx. 12kg Size: currently approx. 40-45cm Residence: Romania 🐾 Oreo – a cheerful heart dog is looking for a home 💛🐶 After being alone on the streets of Romania, Oreo was secured by our animal rescuer and lovingly cared for 🏡❤️. Since then, he has developed into a friendly young dog 🐕✨. Our animal rescuer shows Oreo, what an open, cheerful, and lively dog is in him 😄🌟. He is curious, playful 🎾 and loves to explore his surroundings 🌳. Especially, he enjoys the attention and closeness of people 🥰💛 – cuddles and shared time mean a lot to him 🤗. With his charming and uncomplicated nature, he quickly puts a smile on everyone's face 😍😊. He gets along well with other dogs 🐕🐕, is friendly in handling, and is simply a little sunshine 🌞 in everyday life. Of course, Oreo still has a lot to learn 📚🦮, but with loving and consistent guidance, he can develop into a loyal companion 💪💚. Oreo is looking for a home where he is loved ❤️🏡, can arrive, and finally gets the security he has longed for 🛋️💞. A home where he can show what a wonderful dog he is 🐶✨. Oreo is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, neutered, and has a veterinary check-up. He is in possession of a Eu-Animal Passport. All our dogs travel with official trace papers and Paragraph 11 approval to Germany. Our dogs are additionally tested for Mediterranean diseases via a rapid test. The adoption fee is 500€ plus 30€ for the purchase of safety gear. Note: When we assign our dogs to certain breeds, we base our decision solely on the outward appearance and observable behavior (phenotype). This assignment is made with the best of knowledge and conscience of the club and the involved veterinarians. However, these descriptions do not necessarily correspond to the actual genetic makeup (genotype), as their reliable determination would only be possible through DNA analysis. Furthermore, the behavioral and character description of the individual animal is based on careful observations by the animal welfare workers on site or by the respective foster homes. It should be noted that these assessments are based solely on the current local conditions in the intake stations or foster homes.

About Oreo

What life with Oreo looks like

Oreo is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Rescued Souls e.V. in Pfinztal.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Oreo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Oreo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rescued Souls e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Oreo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Oreo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rescued Souls e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Oreo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Oreo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rescued Souls e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Oreo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
