Ori

Male · Adult · 7 years

Urgently looking for a home Ori is a sensitive dog who has been waiting for a real home all his life. With a familiar person by his side, he quickly shows his true, touching nature - a gentle, carefree, funny dog who always enjoys quality time together. He loves long, relaxed walks, and gentle petting is something he charmingly seeks on his own. His greatest love on walks is water - it's his true element and pure happiness. On walks in a calm environment, Ori is a wonderful companion - he walks nicely on a leash, doesn't pull, explores scents and carefully cooperates with the human. In new situations, he needs a moment to trust, but with a patient approach, he quickly learns and opens up. He handles car trips and visits to the veterinarian well with people he knows. Ori reacts very emotionally to other dogs. When passing by, he barks and becomes tense, and in direct contact, he struggles with his emotions. This is an area requiring work after adoption, preferably under the guidance of a behaviorist. It's worth noting that Ori is a strong dog and can pull hard when emotional. What home are we looking for for Ori? Above all, someone who understands him. We are looking for experienced caretakers or those willing to gain knowledge and work with the dog in a conscious and understanding way. For Ori, an ideal home would be a quiet, stable one. The key is walking areas; the future caregiver should provide Ori with conditions for long, peaceful walks in nature, as Ori will not find his way on walks in typical urban areas. Ori should be the only animal in the house - he is not suitable for a home with another dog or cat. We do not recommend Ori as a first family dog.

Przede wszystkim osoby, która go zrozumie. Marta 508644615 Asia 693120248

About Ori

What life with Ori looks like

Ori is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Reactive to other dogs, requires behavioral work, needs quiet rural environment for walks

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ori, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ori?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ori on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ori if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ori already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ori isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ori and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
