Orlando

English Bulldog · Male · Young · 3 years

Orlando is looking for a home with loving adopters who can take him on gentle strolls and give him all the love and attention he deserves. He is a friendly and playful bean who could live with primary school children who will play with him nicely and will give him space to eat and rest when needed. Orlando could share his home with another playful dog, this will be pending successful meets at the centre. Living with a dog is not a necessity, he would be happy with friendly and playful walking buddies. Orlando has some training under his belt, he does a lovely “sit” and is eager to engage in training in short, sweet sessions as long as a tasty treat is on offer. He would like a home with a private, secure garden for him to potter about in at his leisure. Orlando can settle nicely in the home, so could be left for up to 6 hours, leaving time would need to be built up slowly once he has had time to settle into his new home. Orlando has ear and skin allergies, he does not currently need medication but may do in the future, he will also will need to meet his adopters a few times prior to going home and will be going home on a foster to adopt basis while he is finishing up vet checks so please bear this in mind when applying. Golden boy Orlando is a 3 and a half year old French Bulldog whose fur is so shiny he literally sparkles in the sun! He is a bouncing ball of energy who likes to play with his favourite people, he likes toys and will chase around after them and bat them about. He likes to approach for a fuss on his terms, he likes back scratches and will climb into your lap and paw you for more. This super sweet little guy is ready to find his new home.

About Orlando

What life with Orlando looks like

Orlando is a young adult english bulldog dog waiting at Dogs Trust Canterbury in Chestfield.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Orlando, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Orlando?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Canterbury handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Orlando on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Orlando if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Canterbury will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Orlando already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Orlando isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Canterbury early rather than rehoming privately; they know Orlando and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
