OSCAR (ab)

Mixed Breed · Male

Oscar is a lovely, gentle boy who has shown nothing but kindness towards people. He is always super gentle with humans and has shown no signs of aggression towards them. This handsome boy is full of energy and would be perfect for someone who enjoys training and keeping their dog active and engaged. As he is still a young pup, Oscar is going through the usual chewing stage. With patience, positive training and appropriate outlets for his energy, he will learn what is and isn’t appropriate to chew as he grows.Oscar would benefit from a family who can spend lots of time with him initially, helping him settle into his new home and teaching him how to be comfortable when left alone. With patient training, he can learn to stay home alone for a few hours.Oscar does have some resource guarding around his food and toys when other animals are nearby, so this will need to be managed carefully in his new home. He can live with another dog depending on their personality, although he will want to protect his food and toys if another animal approaches him.Oscar may be able to live with a confident, dog-savvy cat who is used to dogs. However, he will chase a nervous or anxious cat, so a home without cats would likely be the safest and easiest option for him.He is a bright, loving and energetic young dog with so much potential. With the right family, plenty of training, patience and lots of love, Oscar has all the ingredients to become a wonderful companion.

About OSCAR (ab)

What life with OSCAR (ab) looks like

OSCAR (ab) is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Stray2Me Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting OSCAR (ab), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about OSCAR (ab)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stray2Me Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw OSCAR (ab) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt OSCAR (ab) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Stray2Me Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is OSCAR (ab) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if OSCAR (ab) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stray2Me Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know OSCAR (ab) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
