Oskar - Anfragenstopp

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Our Oskar is a cheerful little fellow who quickly spreads joy with his open and lively nature. Currently in the kennel, he appears very skeptical and uncertain, which clearly influences his behavior there. However, as soon as he is outside of this situation, he truly flourishes and shows himself to be open, curious, and approachable. He generally encounters people outside the kennel in a friendly and interested manner. New situations are exciting for him and he approaches his environment, sometimes still a bit overly enthusiastic, but always with a good mood and accessibility. Walks are among his highlights - he thoroughly sniffs, observes, and explores his surroundings with great enthusiasm. He is very eager to learn and works motivated with the person. The basic commands have already been well internalized and orientation at the person is also getting better. Oskar learns quickly and clearly shows that he enjoys joint activities. At the same time, the environment for Oskar is still very exciting. Movement stimuli such as cyclists or joggers currently still get him excited quickly. Here he needs further support to remain calm and feel safe. His pronounced hunting instinct is also shown especially with fast movements in the surroundings and should continue to be directed specifically. Dog encounters are also a learning task for him, where he benefits greatly from calm, confident guidance. In exciting moments it is difficult for Oskar to regulate himself. Therefore, a reliable reference person is very important for him to orientate himself towards. He takes physical contact well in these moments, actively seeks this and can be calmed down through it. He enjoys closeness, affection and extensive cuddling with his reference persons. At the same time he is still in training of his impulse control and frustration tolerance, which should continue to be promoted specifically. For Oskar we are looking for people who enjoy giving an active and intelligent dog structure, calmness and loving consistency. A rather quiet home without small children would be ideal.

DE·Show original

About Oskar - Anfragenstopp

What life with Oskar - Anfragenstopp looks like

Oskar - Anfragenstopp is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Kreistierheim Böblingen in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Oskar - Anfragenstopp, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Oskar - Anfragenstopp?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Kreistierheim Böblingen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Oskar - Anfragenstopp on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Oskar - Anfragenstopp if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Kreistierheim Böblingen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Oskar - Anfragenstopp already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Oskar - Anfragenstopp isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Kreistierheim Böblingen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Oskar - Anfragenstopp and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
