Otis is a beautiful tiger-striped kitten who came to us at the age of about 3-4 months. Unfortunately, it appears that he had little positive contact with people during his first months of life. Those first months are an important period when kittens learn that people can be safe and trustworthy. For Otis, this means he still has a long way to go. He finds new people and situations exciting and does not easily trust. We are not looking for a home for him where he is expected to be on his lap from day one. Otis needs time, patience, and a calm approach. Someone who doesn't impose anything on him, lets him discover at his own pace, and also appreciates the small steps forward. What can help him enormously is the presence of a social and playful companion. A confident cat can show him that people are not so scary and give Otis the chance to observe and adopt positive behavior. Behind that cautious kitten is so much potential. We hope to find someone who not only looks at how Otis is today, but especially at the cat he can become with enough time and trust. Who wants to give Otis that chance?

Otis zoekt iemand die hem de tijd geeft om open te bloeien. Otis is een prachtig getijgerd katertje dat op een leeftijd van ongeveer 3 à 4 maanden bij ons terechtkwam. Helaas lijkt het erop dat hij tijdens zijn eerste levensmaanden maar weinig positief contact met mensen heeft gekend. Net die eerste maanden zijn een belangrijke periode waarin kittens leren dat mensen veilig en vertrouwd kunnen zijn. Voor Otis betekent dit dat hij nog een hele weg te gaan heeft. Nieuwe mensen en situaties vindt hij spannend en vertrouwen geven doet hij niet zomaar. We zoeken voor hem dan ook geen thuis waar verwacht wordt dat hij vanaf dag één op schoot komt liggen. Otis heeft vooral tijd, geduld en een rustige aanpak nodig. Iemand die hem niets oplegt, hem op zijn eigen tempo laat ontdekken en ook de kleine stapjes vooruit weet te waarderen. Wat hem daarbij enorm kan helpen, is de aanwezigheid van een sociale en speelse soortgenoot. Een zelfzekere kat kan hem tonen dat mensen helemaal niet zo eng zijn en Otis de kans geven om positief gedrag te observeren en over te nemen. Achter dat voorzichtige katertje zit nog zoveel potentieel.
