Quintana

European Shorthair · Unknown · Kitten · 4 months

This 4-month-old kitten is part of the second group - she needs a little encouragement to step into the world. She is still a bit uncertain and cautious, and she seeks a lot of support from her sister. Fortunately, her sister is very stable and confident, giving her the security she needs to explore new situations. Together, they make a beautiful duo. When her sister goes on an adventure, she follows carefully. With time, patience, and a calm approach, we expect her to blossom more and more. Because the bond between the two sisters is so strong, and they have so much support from each other, they are only adopted together. We are looking for a loving home where they can grow up together and where the uncertain sister can gain confidence at her own pace. Two different personalities, but clearly one team. Who has room for this sweet sister duo?

NL·Show original

About Quintana

What life with Quintana looks like

Quintana is a small puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Dierenasiel Ganzeweide in Veurne.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Quintana, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Quintana?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenasiel Ganzeweide handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Quintana on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Quintana if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenasiel Ganzeweide will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Quintana already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Quintana isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenasiel Ganzeweide early rather than rehoming privately; they know Quintana and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
