Ozzy – found a home

Mixed Breed · Male

Meet Ozzy, who is looking for a very calm and understanding home. Ozzy is a shy boy who can find the world quite overwhelming and will need plenty of time and space to feel safe. He isn’t one to seek out attention and much prefers to observe from a distance while he builds trust at his own pace. Tasty treats are a great way to gently win him over and help him start to feel more comfortable. Ozzy arrived with very matted fur, so he’s currently sporting a shorter coat after being shaved. His fur will grow back in time and will need regular grooming to keep him comfortable. He will need an adult-only home with no other pets, where things are quiet and predictable. Ozzy is looking for someone patient and understanding who will give him the time he needs without any pressure. In the right home, he’ll slowly begin to feel safe and settled.

About Ozzy – found a home

What life with Ozzy – found a home looks like

Ozzy – found a home is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Wadars Animal Rescue in Worthing.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ozzy – found a home, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ozzy – found a home?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Wadars Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ozzy – found a home on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ozzy – found a home if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Wadars Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ozzy – found a home already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ozzy – found a home isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Wadars Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ozzy – found a home and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
