Ozzy

Lurcher · Male · Puppy · 9 months

His new family will also need to be aware that Ozzy has a history of ingesting items he shouldn't, so careful management and supervision will be essential to keep him safe. Ozzy is a wonderful young dog with so much love to give. With the right guidance, plenty of exercise and lots of affection, he'll make a fantastic companion and bring endless fun, laughter and happiness to his forever home. Meet Ozzy, our gorgeous 9-month-old Lurcher with a huge personality to match his long legs! Bursting with energy, enthusiasm and love for life, Ozzy is always ready for his next adventure. He greets everyone he meets with boundless excitement and thinks every person is a potential new best friend. Ozzy is a fun-loving boy who absolutely adores his toys. Whether it's a game of tug or chasing his favourite football around the garden, he's happiest when he's playing. Footballs are definitely his toy of choice, and he loves showing off his dribbling skills! As you might expect from a young Lurcher, Ozzy is very bouncy and can get overexcited, so he's looking for a home with children aged 16 and over who are confident around lively dogs. He'll thrive with an active family who can keep both his body and mind busy with plenty of walks, adventures and playtime. A secure garden of his own would be the perfect place for him to burn off some of his endless energy. Ozzy is currently looking for a home where he will be the only dog while he continues to be assessed around other dogs. On the plus side, he's a superstar when it comes to travelling and happily jumps straight into the car, ready for wherever the day takes him.

About Ozzy

What life with Ozzy looks like

Ozzy is a extra-large puppy/kitten lurcher dog waiting at Dogs Trust Kenilworth in Kenilworth.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ozzy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ozzy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Kenilworth handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ozzy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ozzy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Kenilworth will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ozzy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ozzy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Kenilworth early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ozzy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
