Ozzy

Male · Senior · 10 years

Ozzy is a sweet, people-oriented senior. Someone probably got rid of him because of his age, and yet 10 years is barely the start of retirement. Ozzy was found tied to a tree. Next to him - a bag of food. It's clear that this was the most important - so he would have a "full bowl", because Ozzy was so fat he could barely move. The animal shelter has badly affected him - Ozzy, indeed, lost weight, but it's visible that the daily chaos is wearing him down emotionally. Often we see him with a bowl in his mouth or chewing on a toy - just to keep his teeth busy and not get drawn into the others' nervousness. All of this passes when the day ends. When it's 4:00 PM, the caretakers go home, the dogs quiet down, and Ozzy, tired from the whole day's vigil, goes to sleep. It's a wonderful dog, gentle, sensitive, trusting. Someone must have really loved him once... What happened? We will never know, but surely Ozzy's world has collapsed. Ozzy urgently needs to find himself in a home, with people who will take care of his health, diet, and peaceful walks as well as a warm and comfortable place to rest. foundation Przyjaciele Palucha offers financial support after adoption!

PL·Show original

Ozzy jest przemiłym, proludzkim seniorem. Ktoś zapewne pozbył się go właśnie z powodu jego wieku, a przecież 10 lat to ledwo początek emerytury Ozzy’ego znaleziono, gdy stał przywiązany do drzewa. Obok - worek karmy. Gdy wybija 16:00, opiekunowie idą do domu, psy cichną, a Ozzy, zmęczony całodziennym czuwaniem, idzie spać. To przekochany pies, delikatny, czuły, ufny. Kiedyś ktoś naprawdę musiał go kochać… About Ozzy

What life with Ozzy looks like

Ozzy is a large senior dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Overweight, requires diet management and stress management due to shelter anxiety

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ozzy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ozzy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ozzy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ozzy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ozzy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ozzy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ozzy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
