Adopt Pacha

English Bulldog · Male · Puppy · 2 months

American Bulldog x German Shepherd Age: (born on 30/11/2019) Microchip number: 250268600300714 History: accidental litter. Returned for adoption because he bites according to people... In reality he just plays too hard. Character/Description: Pacha comes from an unwanted litter that was given to the association at 2 months old. They were all adopted but Pacha unfortunately returns for adoption because his family didn't sufficiently involve themselves in his education and socialization. Pacha has not an ounce of aggression, he simply behaves like a 4-month-old puppy at 11 months old. His main problem concerns the management of his emotions. He is a very playful dog, one must be careful because he gets very excited and doesn't hesitate to use his mouth. So far he calms down by redirecting him to a toy or simply by asking him to sit. Similarly, cuddling sessions sometimes have to be shortened because he can't control himself. For this reason, Pacha will not go to a home with young children, a family with teenagers is possible. However, it will absolutely require an experienced and committed owner who is willing to continue educating Pacha. One of the reasons for Pacha's abandonment relates to destruction during absences. However, it seems to be due to boredom and lack of physical and mental exercise. In his foster home, Pacha only destroyed once after a day without a walk. This could have been avoided with toys available. When left alone, he cries for 2 minutes then settles down or doesn't cry at all if left with engaging toys. Therefore, we cannot speak of separation anxiety. He also still has some housebreaking issues, indeed he drinks a lot and can't hold it for more than 8 hours at night and 4 hours during the day. It has also happened that he urinated on himself out of fear when a stranger man came to the foster home. Accidents are becoming rarer with better management of the foster home. Pacha knows how to walk on a leash in a calm environment but can start pulling to try to reach another animal of the same species or when he gets excited / frightened (agitation in the city, barking, startled by a movement). He tolerates the car very well. Pacha knows basic commands (sit, lie down, shake). He is not a barker, his only barks (less than ten in two weeks) have been reactions of fear, often facing men or when a neighbor stayed in front of the apartment door for too long. Pacha loves other animals of the same species. He can get scared if the dog in front barks. He also has trouble controlling himself during play. He is beginning to learn through being around dogs that can show their disagreement and human intervention when he is too persistent. A work on his canine communication will have to be done and we recommend his follow-up by a trainer. A test will have to be carried out if potential adopters already have a dog but so far he has gotten along with all his other animals of the same species. As for cats, Pacha has always lived with several but he would have attacked one of the cats from his previous family, perhaps due to lack of exercise or poor management by the owners. Given his poor emotion management, we prefer to prioritize adopters without cats. Pacha is very attached, he deserves a present and involved family that will help him realize all his potential. In just two weeks he has made huge progress and can completely become a balanced and easy-to-live-with dog with a little work. He is not afraid of all men, he can therefore go to a family with a man provided a test or several meetings. Adoption fee: 260 euros Adoption outside of France is entirely possible. The adopter must also be able to visit the foster family to meet the animal. Vaccinated:

About Pacha

What life with Pacha looks like

Pacha is a puppy/kitten english bulldog dog waiting at Action 4 Pets in France.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pacha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pacha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Action 4 Pets handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pacha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pacha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Action 4 Pets will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pacha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pacha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Action 4 Pets early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pacha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
