PACO

Yorkshire Terrier · Male · Puppy

Yorkshire Terrier Cross, Male (not neutered). Date of birth: Approximately 4 years old. Arrived at the shelter: August 2026. Paco has never really experienced the kind of family life we imagine for a dog. He lived in a very different environment, with a great deal of freedom, and now needs to gradually learn the routines of living with people. Still a little shy, Paco is nonetheless friendly and endearing. He willingly comes into contact, as long as he is given time to build trust. Given his past, particular vigilance will be needed regarding escapes. A perfectly secure environment will be essential to prevent him from trying to regain his freedom. Paco will need a patient, present, and caring family, ready to teach him everything he has never had the chance to discover. Compatibility: Gets along with female dogs. Does not get along with males. Compatibility with cats unknown.

Ententes chats inconnues.

About PACO

What life with PACO looks like

PACO is a medium-sized puppy yorkshire terrier dog waiting at SPA de Sarrebourg in France.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting PACO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about PACO?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA de Sarrebourg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw PACO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt PACO if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA de Sarrebourg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is PACO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if PACO isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA de Sarrebourg early rather than rehoming privately; they know PACO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
