Paddington

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Paddington has found his people! His story: Zalau, Romania. The similarity to his namesake Paddington Bear can't be denied. His fluffy and soft fur does indeed recall a cuddly bear. 🙂 And when it comes to his personality, he certainly lives up to the image of a cuddly bear. Paddington loves to snuggle. Our colleagues on the ground say that one can't help but fall in love with this magical guy. But Paddington is not only friendly and gets along well with both humans and fellow animals, he also runs on a leash very well and shows himself to be a very balanced and obedient dog. Unfortunately, a part of his testicles was removed, which is why his entry into Switzerland is unfortunately denied. Paddington, who is around 2 years old and already past puberty, has a good medium size of about 53 cm and 26 kg, making him a perfect companion for all adventures. Of course, it's possible that Paddington has only been able to do very little of what we expect from our dogs so far, and so it will certainly take patience and some time for him to learn, for example, being alone or house training. Paddington would also surely be happy to attend a positively working dog training class, where he can not only learn the dog ABC but also play with his dog buddies. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas for his new home. Of course, he also brings his EU pet passport. Against an adoption fee of 500 Euro and only after a positive review. The handsome male dog would also be very happy about a foster placement. Many thanks to Carina G.! You gave Paddington his name. As of: 01.04.

Vielen Dank Carina G.! Du hast Paddington seinen Namen geschenkt. Stand: 01.04.2024

About Paddington

What life with Paddington looks like

Paddington is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Paddington, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Paddington?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Paddington on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Paddington if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Paddington already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Paddington isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Paddington and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
