Paddy

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

I’m a sweet, fun-loving chap with a big personality. I love to play, make people laugh with my silly antics, and I’m a pretty clever boy too! My absolute favourite thing in the world? Zoomies! There’s nothing better than racing around a garden with the wind in my ears and the grass beneath my paws. I’d love a home with a secure garden and a 6ft fence where I can stretch my legs and perfect my zooming skills. My second favourite thing is being with my people. I’m a real people dog and absolutely adore human company. My dream home would be one where my family are around for most of the day-if you work from home, I could be your perfect office buddy! As I love being with my people so much, I’d need any time left on my own to be introduced gradually so I can build up my confidence. I’d need to be the only pet in the home. I can get a little overexcited when I see other dogs, but I’m working really hard on this with the staff here. In time, I may be able to make some doggy walking friends, as long as introductions are taken slowly and at my pace. My walking buddies would need to be calm, confident, and dog-savvy. The team here will be happy to chat through how to help me succeed. I’m quite a strong boy on the lead, so I’ll need a family who are happy to continue my training and behaviour work. With a little patience, consistency, and understanding, I’ll grow into the very best version of myself. I’m looking for a family who’ll enjoy adventures, long walks, fun games, and plenty of cuddles. I’m incredibly friendly with people and could happily live with children aged 11 and over. I’m a bit of a bouncy boy, so my friends here think I might accidentally knock over younger children-but I promise I’m just an oversized softie who wants to be everyone’s friend! If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, affectionate companion who’ll fill your days with laughter, love, and lots of cuddles, I might just be the perfect match for you. All I ask is for a family with the time, patience, and understanding to help me continue growing into the amazing dog I know I can be.

About Paddy

What life with Paddy looks like

Paddy is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Jerry Green Dog Rescue in Lincoln.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Paddy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Paddy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Jerry Green Dog Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Paddy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Paddy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Jerry Green Dog Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Paddy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Paddy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Jerry Green Dog Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Paddy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
