Florence and Daisy

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Hi, we’re Florence and Daisy! 💕 Hello! We’re Florence (I’m the black and white one) and Daisy (I’m the grey one), and we’re three-year-old Shih Tzu sisters looking for our forever home together. We’ve been side by side our whole lives, and we’re happiest when we’re together, so we’re looking for a family who’ll welcome us both with open arms. If you’re looking for two little shadows to fill your home with love, cuddles, and wagging tails, we think we might just be your perfect match! We’re both incredibly friendly and absolutely love meeting new people. Whether you’re a visitor, a neighbour, or someone we’ve only just met, we’ll be there to say hello with wagging tails and happy faces. Our foster family says we’re both very affectionate, not only with people but with each other too. We love nothing more than snuggling up for cuddles, rolling over for tummy rubs, and being close to the people we love. We’re both house-trained and, once we’ve settled into a routine, we’re happy to be left for up to two hours if you need to pop out. We’re looking for a home with children aged 11 years and over who’ll be gentle and kind with us. There are a few things we’d like our new family to know. We’d really prefer to be the only dogs in the home. We can find seeing lots of other dogs on walks quite overwhelming, so we’d enjoy quieter walking routes where we can relax and enjoy ourselves. We’d also love a family who’s happy to continue helping us with some training when we’re out and about, so we can grow in confidence. Cats aren’t really our cup of tea either, so we’d rather not share our home with one. Small furry friends are fine though, as long as they’re safely housed out of our reach. A secure garden with 5ft fencing is important for us so we can enjoy sniffing, pottering about, and soaking up the sunshine safely. More than anything, we’re looking for someone who’ll love us for the sweet, gentle girls we are. We’ll reward you with endless affection, loyal companionship, and twice the cuddles every single day.

About Florence and Daisy

What life with Florence and Daisy looks like

Florence and Daisy is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Jerry Green Dog Rescue in Lincoln.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Florence and Daisy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Florence and Daisy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Jerry Green Dog Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Florence and Daisy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Florence and Daisy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Jerry Green Dog Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Florence and Daisy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Florence and Daisy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Jerry Green Dog Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Florence and Daisy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
