Adoption requirements Adoption process Ask about this animal now! Adoption requirements Adoption process Ask about this cat now! Panther was born on the street and had to learn to be careful from the beginning. He was found with his siblings suffering from a respiratory infection. Thanks to timely treatment, he has recovered well. Unfortunately, one of his siblings did not survive. Panther is a very sensitive, delicate young tomcat. He observes first before taking action. In new situations, he withdraws and may hiss out of uncertainty. This is not aggression, but pure fear. He wants to protect himself and simply needs time to understand that nothing will happen to him. With other cats, Panther feels much more secure. He relies heavily on them and gains confidence through them. Therefore, he will not be rehomed as a single tomcat. Dogs have not been tested yet. Free roaming is not an option for him. He needs a quiet, patient home where time is given to him and small progress is appreciated. Regarding his travel arrangements, Panther is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and treated for fleas. He is negative for FIV and FeLV. Whoever takes Panther in not only gives a shy little tomcat a home, but also the chance to learn trust and gradually feel at home. A heartfelt thanks to godmother Ker W, who supports Panther and makes his path to a safe future possible. Status: 03.03.

Stand: 03.03.2026

About Panther

What life with Panther looks like

Panther is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Panther, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Panther?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Panther on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Panther if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Panther already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Panther isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Panther and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
